Angel Prater: Passionate Systemic Change Agent

Angel Prater is a dynamic force of change and the inspiring founder of Alchemize HOPE. She wears many hats—Visionary, Course Creator, Coach, Master Trainer, Consultant, and Alchemist. Since July 5, 1996, Angel has been sharing her journey of experience, strength, and hope without an ounce of shame or guilt. Her mission is simple yet profound: to Alchemize HOPE by providing HOPE-driven Opportunities to Personally Evolve and to inspire others to share their stories and help others in the spirit of "Paying it forward."

With over 27 years of traditional education, personal and professional experience in trauma-informed care, Angel has been at the forefront of systemic change. She has dedicated her career to bridging the gaps in our systems of care, implementing Trauma-Aware Approaches across social services, health systems, criminal justice, and behavioral health services nationwide. Through her proven "4 Steps Pathway to HOPE," Angel guides individuals, communities, and agencies in creating pathways for success and wellness for all.

Angel's advocacy for voice, choice, self-determination, and self-actualization is a testament to her belief in "Nothing About Us Without Us." Her extensive experience in developing direct service programs, administrative roles, and nonprofit leadership has made her a respected leader in promoting and bridging the gap of Trauma-Informed Care and Trauma-Aware Approaches. Angel's work aims to combat staff burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue by fostering a culture of wellness and support.

As a Certified National Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Trainer since 2008, Angel has shared her knowledge and training with thousands, instilling a sense of hope that we can transform the way we care for each other no matter the hat we are wearing. For nearly 3 decades she has sat on various local, state, and national boards, committees, workgroups, and legislative action teams, tirelessly advocating for the voices of those who receive and provide care. Her goal is to shift fear-based systems toward HOPE-driven Opportunities to Personally Evolve in every corner of the world.

In her personal life, Angel enjoys all forms of music, singing, dancing, riding motorcycles, skydiving, traveling, the ocean, sunny skies, and, above all, spending time with her family. She is a proud mother of two daughters and an Oma to seven grandchildren. Angel believes there are many pathways to wellness, there is no one size fits all, she embraces a holistic approach to wellness, emphasizing the importance of balance and awareness in mind, body, and spirit.

Jammie Gardner: Turning Trauma into Triumph

Jammie Gardner is an innovator and change leader dedicated to bringing hope and healing to those in need and to the lightkeepers who serve them. With over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit community services sector, she has pioneered the family and youth peer movement in Oregon. As the CEO and founder of organizations addressing mental health, substance use, trauma, juvenile justice, and foster care, Jammie has made a significant impact both in the US and internationally.

Jammie's work in the youth mental health field has equipped young people with the skills and hope they need to heal, grow, and support their peers and families facing trauma, suicide, and other challenges. A master trainer, speaker, writer and program developer, she brings a healing spirit and unwavering determination to improve community outcomes through hope and healing.

As the co-founder of Alchemize HOPE, alongside her partner Angel, Jammie is transforming trauma-aware approaches to foster personal evolution and hope. Her collaboration with national leaders in the youth field, combined with her 25 years as a foster parent, underscores her commitment to creating positive change for young people and their communities.

Jammie's journey as a suicide survivor has fueled her passion to make a difference in others' lives. She is a published author and holds certifications in various healing modalities, including Karuna Master Holy Fire Reiki Practitioner and Trainer, Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, Master Hypnotherapist, Master Success & Life Coach, and Master Emotional Freedom Tapping Practitioner. Her dedication to personal growth and healing is evident in all her endeavors.

Jammie has won numerous awards including Oregon's Mental Health Advocate of the Year Award Issued by The Oregon Council of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the Children’s Mental Health Award for Excellence Issued by Oregon Health Authority, Lifetime Achievement Award issued by Youth Era, and the Award for Exemplary Leadership From Oregon Family Support Network Board of Directors

In her personal life, Jammie finds solace in spiritual practices such as reiki, energy work, meditation and breathwork. She enjoys outdoor activities like dirt bike riding, horseback riding, reading, writing, and continuous self-improvement. She loves all genre’s of music, but especially Hip Hop! She is most at home grounding with nature, spending time with her soul sisters, listening to music, and hanging out with her dogs, horses, family, and friends!

Jammie's mission is to bring hope and healing through HOPE-driven change, empowering people to embrace the opportunity to alchemize hope in their own lives and communities.
